Success for SEED Homes at the Investors for Excellence Awards

22nd March 2012

At SEED Homes we are excited to announce that we have been highly commended in the 2011/12 Investors in Excellence Awards.

The Investors In Excellence Awards recognise the achievements of businesses and organisations across the UK. SEED was entered into the Innovation category of the Special Category Awards which recognises the development and implementation of new ideas, new products, services and new ways of working which show clear evidence of performance and results.

The application process initially called for a 1000 word submission (attached here), which put our entry through to a shortlist of three finalists. Following this Edward Bulmer and Peter Lawley of SEED Homes gave a 30 minute presentation to a panel of industry experts at Hams Hall BMW plant at Coleshill, Warwickshire. In both the submission and the presentation we concentrated on showing how SEED addressed sustainability by considering it in its broadest sense, ie environmentally, socially and economically. In particular we focused on our innovative approach to construction, and to community engagement in our developments.

Although not taking the full award under this category we are very proud to have been given such a prominent endorsement of what we are trying to achieve as a very small business operating in our rural backwater, especially considering the size and influence of the organisations that we were competing with. The judging panel said that SEED showed an “innovative and altruistic approach with clear rationale that was well presented”.

Attached here is our certificate. Further information on the Investors in Excellence, special category awards can be found here.
